Produced by former Motown band leader Choker Campbell, Whitney demonstrates shades of Aretha Franklin, Candi Staton, and Lyn Collins. Highlights include the rattling funk of "War" and the euphoric opener "Questions," as Whitney's incredible vocals soar overtop Campbell's slick arrangements.
